Officers Get Good Tickets for Leadership & Decision Making

Officer Christopher Ruelas-Woods and Detective Mark Mulligan were awarded the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation’s “Good Ticket” at Gatsby’s at Resorts World Las Vegas for their leadership and decision-making to ensure public safety and bring justice.

During routine patrol, Officer Christopher Ruelas-Woods located a Pomona Police Department (PPD) missing person vehicle in a local motel parking lot. Officer Reulas-Woods contacted motel
management to obtain guest information of the owner’s vehicle and surmised a missing eight-year-olchild and mother were lodged at the motel. He reported the missing person to the Pomona Police Department, facilitated the safe return of the child, and closure to PPD’s missing person’s case.

Detective Mark Mulligan responded to a purse snatching incident of a tourist whose identity was stolen. Detective Mulligan informed the family that during an investigation he conducted into an ID Theft/Fraud ring, he realized the ID of the victim’s daughter had been stolen. Through his detailed investigation, Detective
Mulligan stayed in communication with the family providing ID Theft and Fraud information to resolve the issue and reassurance that Las Vegas remains a safe place to visit.

The 2023 Good Ticket program continues to recognize officers monthly for positive actions on the job. The Good Ticket program is sponsored by Resorts World Las Vegas, which donates staycations to program recipients, including accommodations and dining experiences, as well as hosting the monthly award ceremonies.

“The Good Ticket program was established by the LVMPD Foundation to recognize and honor the dedication of Metro officers throughout the year who exemplify the highest policing standards,” said Karen Marben, Executive Director of the LVMPD Foundation. “The LVMPD Foundation along with Resorts World Las Vegas, our community partner, want to say thank you to the many outstanding law enforcement officers who serve our community and keep us safe every day.”

A program of the LVMPD Foundation, which raises funds to support and supplement LVMPD programs and initiatives, including officer training, new equipment, and positive community engagement activities, The Good Ticket is one of many programs designed to encourage support from the community for LVMPD.
