Tina Quigley to Keynote Wonder Women of Metro Luncheon

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation is proud to announce the Seventh Annual Wonder Women of Metro Luncheon, to honor and celebrate the exceptional contributions of women in law enforcement and the community. This year’s Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the PALMS Casino Resort, 4321 W. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89103.

The keynote speaker, Tina Quigley, President and CEO of the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance, joins a distinguished list of trailblazing women who have taken the stage at this event. Past keynote speakers include Diana Bennett, Chairman of the Board and co-founder of Paragon Gaming; philanthropist Kris Engelstad McGarry; filmmaker Robin Greenspun; Aces president Nikki Fargas; Missy Young, Chief Information Officer at SWITCH; and Punam Mathur, executive director of the Elaine P. Wynn and Family Foundation.

The event aims to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the Las Vegas community by acknowledging the pivotal role played by women in the department. By recognizing their significant contributions, the luncheon fosters a sense of community and collaboration.

The third annual Crystal Sims Award will be presented at the luncheon. A former LVMPD Officer, Crystal Sims died of lung cancer in August 2020 after she was exposed to hazardous materials while serving in Afghanistan.  Female members of the department will nominate one of their own for this prestigious award.

“As we gather to celebrate the Seventh Annual Wonder Women of Metro Luncheon, we recognize the exceptional contributions of women in law enforcement and also the profound impact they have on fostering leadership within the department and inspiring our community. This event serves as a beacon of empowerment, highlighting the central role women play in shaping the future of law enforcement and strengthening the bond between the LVMPD, and other law enforcement agencies in the Valley, and the Las Vegas community,” says Karen Marben, executive director of the LVMPD Foundation.
