The Magic of Compassion: Officer Michael Flores Honored with July Good Ticket

On July 31, the LVMPD Foundation proudly honored Officer Michael Flores with the July Good Ticket at a heartwarming ceremony held at Gatsby’s inside Resorts World Las Vegas. The event spotlighted Officer Flores’ unique way of serving the community, not just through his work in the Digital Investigations Bureau, but through the magic tricks he performs for children in crisis.

Officer Flores brings sleight-of-hand and a whole lot of heart to places like Child Haven, using illusions to spark real joy and healing for vulnerable youth. His ability to connect with children through magic creates moments of levity and laughter in what are often very difficult situations.

In a special twist during the ceremony, Officer Flores performed card tricks live for Resorts World Las Vegas staff, drawing smiles, gasps, and applause from the audience. His presence reminded everyone in the room that policing isn’t only about protection—it’s also about connection.

As part of the celebration, Officer Flores received a Good Ticket staycation package from our generous partners at Resorts World Las Vegas, which included a luxury hotel stay, food and beverage credit, and tickets to one of the property’s top-tier entertainment experiences.

Officer Flores reminds us that small gestures can make a lasting impact—and that sometimes, real magic comes from showing up with heart.
