February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the rich history and contributions of the Black community. In the spirit of this important month, we are excited to highlight the impactful work of the Black Giving Circle, an initiative by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation.
The Black Giving Circle is dedicated to supporting the Black community and enhancing public safety in frontline areas. Backed by business and community leaders, this initiative aims to improve street safety, uplift families, and foster a more inclusive, collaborative, and empowered community.

- Youth Sports, Development, and Empowerment Programs: Initiatives like the Discover, Redirect, Empower, Advocate & Mentor (DREAM) Program engage young people, building mentorship and trust between officers and local children, and creating a safer community.
- Back-to-School Initiative: Funding this initiative allows officers to provide backpacks and school supplies to under-served children, addressing educational disparities and setting them up for academic success.
- Holiday Gift & Give Program: Events like Santa Cop and Shop with a Cop provide special shopping experiences, uplifting spirits in a positive way, and allowing law enforcement to give back to the community.
