Every day, LVMPD’s Community Oriented Policing (C.O.P.) Teams work closely with residents, businesses, and local partners to make a positive impact in neighborhoods across Southern Nevada. From youth mentorship and neighborhood cleanups to supporting families in need and hosting community events, each LVMPD Area Command brings its own unique energy, creativity, and compassion to the community it serves.
Now, the LVMPD Foundation invites you to help celebrate their incredible impact through the 2025 Top C.O.P. Team Contest—a friendly competition recognizing the Area Command whose team best embodies community policing at its finest.
How It Works
The contest runs from November 12, 2025, through January 2, 2026. Individuals can cast $1 votes for their favorite team—there’s no limit to how many votes you can cast! Every dollar donated through this campaign directly benefits the LVMPD Foundation and helps fund its flagship community engagement programs, including:

Easter and Halloween events, and more
These initiatives help bridge gaps in resources, foster trust between officers and residents, and create opportunities for positive connection throughout the year.
A Symbol of Excellence
Adding to the excitement, the winning C.O.P. Team will take home the coveted Top C.O.P. Championship Belt, designed and crafted by LVMPD Sergeant Brent Garcia, who says “the belt is a symbol of excellence for the COP Teams in providing service to our communities.” The championship belt is displayed proudly at the winning Area Command, serving as a reminder of their outstanding service and commitment to community engagement.
Recognition and Celebration
The Top C.O.P. Team winners will be announced on Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (LEAD)—January 9, 2026—a day dedicated to honoring the men and women who protect and serve our community.
In addition to the championship title and belt, the runners-up will be treated to team breakfasts and lunches, recognizing their hard work and dedication to fostering safer neighborhoods.
