The 8th Annual Hidden Heroes Black & White Gala is an evening dedicated to recognizing the unsung heroes of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD)—the officers and personnel who serve with unwavering dedication but often remain behind the scenes. This year, we are proud to honor the LVMPD Honor Guard, a distinguished unit that performs military-style honors for fallen officers and represents the department with grace and tradition at official ceremonies.
A Night of Recognition and Gratitude
The Hidden Heroes Black & White Gala was created to shine a spotlight on those who play an integral role in public safety but may not always be in the public eye. Inspiration for the event stems from the heroic efforts following the events of 1 October, particularly the work of investigative teams that reviewed bodycam footage for the Criminal Investigative Report on the 1 October Mass Shooting. Since 2018, in partnership with Nami Oneda and The Gratitude Project, this event has recognized various LVMPD units for their commitment, sacrifice, and service to the community.
This year’s honorees, the LVMPD Honor Guard, exemplify professionalism, precision, and respect. Whether standing in solemn tribute for a fallen officer, presenting colors at an official ceremony, or representing Metro at key events, the Honor Guard ensures that the traditions of service, honor, and duty remain at the forefront of law enforcement. Their presence is a powerful reminder of the strength, discipline, and unity within the department.
