Santa Cops 2025: Officers Bring Holiday Joy to 77 Local Youth
The holiday season shines a little brighter as the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation hosts its annual Santa Cops event—one of our most heartfelt traditions supporting local youth and strengthening community bonds.
This year, 77 children from low-income families are selected by LVMPD Area Commands and local schools to participate in a special morning of shopping, mentoring, and holiday cheer at Macy’s Fashion Show Las Vegas. Each child is paired one-on-one with a police officer or law enforcement professional, giving them not only a holiday shopping experience but also an opportunity to build trust, confidence, and a positive connection with those who serve our community every day.
A Morning of Warmth—In More Ways Than One
Thanks to generous supporters, every child receives a brand-new winter jacket to start the day. The shopping experience is made possible by a grant from Macy’s, along with contributions from additional donors who believe in the power of mentorship and community care. Their support ensures that each child can choose holiday gifts, clothing, and essentials for themselves and their families.

For many children, Santa Cops offers a rare opportunity to spend meaningful time with an officer in a positive and supportive environment. Laughter fills the aisles as officers help children pick the perfect gifts, share stories, and learn about each child’s dreams and challenges. These small moments—simple but powerful—build the kind of trust and understanding that strengthens the fabric of our community.
