LVMPD Foundation Starts Back-to-School Preparations

Despite the triple-digit temperatures in Las Vegas, it’s time to start thinking about back-to-school preparations. Local students return to school in about six weeks, and many children will need basic school supplies to succeed.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation is kicking off its annual Back to School Initiative with a Backpack Drive and a call for donations.

Officers from LVMPD’s Community Oriented Policing (COP) teams have identified 1,000 students in need. With your help, they will deliver backpacks filled with essential school supplies, creating meaningful connections, and showing students that their community cares.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

  1. Donate a Backpack: Join our drive and give a student the supplies they need.
  2. Make a Financial Donation: Your contributions will be used to purchase school essentials.
  3. Text to Give: Text LVMPD to 41444 to donate quickly and easily.
