A Heartfelt Salute to LVMPD Heroes: Exemplifying Compassion and Humanity on the Job

Throughout ten inspiring Good Ticket ceremonies, we’ve recognized extraordinary LVMPD officers and personnel who go above and beyond to make a positive difference in our community. These ceremonies celebrate the selflessness, integrity, and humanity that LVMPD embodies, highlighting acts of kindness and dedication that have touched lives across Las Vegas.

The Good Ticket program, made possible through our valued partnership with Resorts World Las Vegas, is an opportunity to thank our LVMPD heroes and acknowledge their impact in fostering a safer and more connected community. As we approach Thanksgiving, we reflect on each of these events with a profound sense of gratitude. Here’s a look back at the remarkable moments and individuals who were honored at these ceremonies:

Officers Jacob Noriega and Ty Vesperas

During the UNLV shooting, LVMPD Spring Valley Area Command Officers Noriega and Vesperas provided life-saving aid to a victim, using emergency training from LVMPD’s Joint Emergency Training Institute. Their actions saved a life amidst a tragic event.

CSI Analysts Lara Alexander and Sabrina Steinmetz

As a Crime Scene Intelligence Liaison, Analyst Lara Alexander greatly improved case handling and supported training initiatives, while Sabrina Steinmetz coordinated CSI training, mentoring colleagues and volunteering in community education.

Officers Humberto Zarate and Oscar Murguia

In response to gang threats against a juvenile, LVMPD Spring Valley Area Command Officers Zarate and Murguia helped relocate the family to safety, preventing potential violence and exemplifying the power of community policing.

Sergeants John Fullington and Eliott Ludtke

Encountering a stranded motorist whose wheel came off, the LVMPD Northwest Area Command sergeants bought necessary parts and even covered towing costs, showcasing kindness and dedication beyond their duties.

Detective Mona Miller and Officer Cedric Boney

The team swiftly and professionally intervened in a violent neighbor dispute involving property damage and threats. Their decisive actions de-escalated tensions and ensured community safety.

Officer Richard Vala

LVMPD South Central Area Command Officer Vala responded to a young man in a manic episode at a store. Instead of pursuing arrest, he arranged hospital transport at the family’s request, highlighting his empathy and mental health awareness.

Officers Diana Wohlers and Jeremy Robertson

Responding to a missing person report, LVMPD Summerlin Area Command Officers Wohlers and Robertson used an ATV to locate a vulnerable woman lost in a remote water detention basin. Their resourcefulness and quick thinking saved her life.

Detective Buddy Embrey

Detective Embrey assisted UMC Pediatrics by retrieving contact information from a damaged phone found with a juvenile patient on life support. His actions allowed the patient’s mother to say goodbye, demonstrating exceptional compassion and initiative.

Officers Connor Bishop and Danny Ottomanelli

LVMPD Bolden Area Command Officers Bishop and Ottomanelli are honored for their swift teamwork in a brutal attack response. Officer Bishop’s paramedic background was pivotal in stabilizing the victim en route to the hospital, while Officer Ottomanelli’s swift suspect apprehension ensured the best possible outcome.

Officer Brennan Childers (October)
