This year, our esteemed 100 Club Donors are invited to an exclusive event that will include the official ribbon cutting of the indoor tactical training village inside the newly dedicated Detective Steve Scholl Building at the Joint Emergency Training Institute (JETI).

This one-of-a-kind facility is a vital part of Metro’s mission to protect and serve. Inside, a fully immersive indoor training village replicates the real-life environments our officers and first responders encounter every day. From a bustling streetscape and lifelike casino floor to a classic diner, hotel rooms, school setting, and convenience store and gas station, each space is thoughtfully designed to reflect the complex and unpredictable scenarios law enforcement and other first responders face on the streets of Las Vegas.

The village allows for dynamic, hands-on training that sharpens tactical response and prioritizes de-escalation strategies—giving our officers the tools they need to respond safely, effectively, and compassionately in high-stress situations.

This year’s Lunch with the Sheriff is unlike any before.
We’re marking a major milestone together: the official ribbon cutting of the new Tactical Training Village, a groundbreaking facility designed to prepare law enforcement and first responders for the real-life challenges they face every day.

Hosted by the LVMPD Foundation, this special event honors our 100 Club Donors, the generous supporters who stand behind Metro’s mission to protect and serve. You’ll be among the first to step inside the newly named Detective Steve Scholl Building at the Joint Emergency Training Institute (JETI) and see how your support is shaping the future of public safety in Southern Nevada.

11:30 AM – 11:45 AM – Ribbon Cutting of Tactical Training Village

Be part of a significant moment as we officially open the state-of-the-art Tactical Training Village in the Detective Steve Scholl Building. This immersive training environment is designed to provide realistic, scenario-based instruction for law enforcement and other first responders. The ribbon cutting will be led by Sheriff Kevin McMahill and key partners who helped bring this critical facility to life. Attendees will get a first look at the innovative structures, streetscapes, and technology that will shape the future of public safety training in Southern Nevada.

11:45 AM – 12:45 PM – Lunch & Program

Enjoy a hosted lunch while connecting with fellow supporters and public safety leaders. The program will begin with a warm welcome from LVMPD Foundation Board President Mike Howard, followed by remarks from Sheriff Kevin McMahill. We’ll unveil the new street signs honoring individuals who have made a lasting impact. We will also recognize our 2025 100 Club Donor members for their continued commitment to the safety and strength of our community.

12:45 PM – 1:30 PM – Tours & Demonstrations

Witness a live tactical demonstration showcasing the advanced training, tactics, and teamwork that define modern law enforcement. Then take a rare behind-the-scenes tour of how the LVMPD prepares to protect and serve our community at the highest level.

Where is the event?
The LVMPD Joint Emergency Training Institute is near the intersection of Hollywood and E. Lake Mead Boulevard, just east of Nellis Air Force Base and a few minutes north of the Frenchman Mountain Wash Trail. A nearby landmark is Sunrise Mountain High School, located a block away.

Where should I park, and is parking free?
Yes, parking is free. There is ample surface parking available on-site. Please follow the directions of LVMPD personnel and event volunteers for assistance.

Will there be walking involved? Is the event accessible?
Yes, some walking will be required. Transportation will be available for guests who need assistance getting to the tent near the MACTAC Area. The event is accessible, and accommodations can be made as needed.

Do I need to RSVP or bring a ticket to attend?
Yes, RSVPs are required. This is an invitation-only event reserved for donors and one guest. NO PHYSICAL TICKET IS NEEDED —just check in upon arrival. For any questions, please contact events@lvmpdfoundation.org

Can I bring more than one guest?
Due to limited space, we kindly ask that you bring only one guest. This allows us to accommodate as many of our generous supporters as possible. If you have any questions, please contact events@lvmpdfoundation.org

What is the dress code for the event?
Business casual or smart casual attire is recommended. Please keep in mind that part of the event takes place outdoors and on paved surfaces and hard floors, so comfortable shoes are advised.

What time should I arrive?
We recommend arriving 15 minutes before the start of the event to allow time for parking and check-in.

Will food and drinks be provided?
Yes, a hosted lunch and beverages will be provided during the program portion of the event.

Will you accommodate food allergies?
Please don’t hesitate to contact events@lvmpdfoundation.org to inform us of any food allergies.

What if there is inclement weather?
The event will proceed rain or shine. In the case of inclement weather, portions of the event may be moved under cover or adjusted as needed. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

Will there be restrooms available?
Yes, restrooms will be available on-site for guest use.
