LIMA
Compassionate Policing. Life-Changing Outcomes.
The LIMA Program (Law Enforcement Intervention for Mental Health and Addiction) is a transformative initiative designed to address drug crime, addiction, and homelessness by offering a second chance to those in need.
Rather than funneling individuals into the justice system, LIMA redirects participants to community-based services to receive the treatment and support they need to turn their lives around. With a focus on those battling chemical dependency, participants commit to 9 to 12 months of treatment, taking vital steps toward recovery.
The LVMPD Foundation plays a crucial role in this effort by funding graduation celebrations that set participants up for long-term success as they reenter society. With the right tools and ongoing support, LIMA graduates are empowered to maintain their progress and reduce the risk of relapse, helping them build a brighter, more stable future.
