The Foundation’s Good Ticket program recognizes LVMPD Officers and civilian personnel for their positive actions in the community. The program was designed in 2019 in collaboration with Sydney Ramenofsky, who, as a member of Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, proposed that police have an opportunity to hand out Good Tickets to civilians for doing something good and not just only when they’ve done something wrong. It has since become a way to recognize and support officers who, day in and day out, work hard to keep our community safe.
Resorts World Las Vegas sponsors the 2023 Good Ticket program. Each month, Resorts World Las Vegas presents resort accommodations, food & beverage vouchers, and concert tickets to Metro staff who show that humanity is part of the job.
This year, Good Tickets have been issued to two officers who paid for accommodations to an unhoused family in crisis, a Corrections Officer who has the nickname the “Inmate Whisperer” because he de-escalates violent situations and a Dispatcher who is credited with saving the life of a baby whose mother was in distress. We also honored two Senior Crime Scene Analysts for their work on the Fallen Officer Truong Thai’s incident and a Traffic Bureau officer for showing the human side of policing while helping an accident victim.
The Good Ticket is a vehicle for the members of this great community to show their support for LVMPD and the strong partnership between the public and Metro. The LVMPD Foundation is grateful to Resorts World Las Vegas for encouraging community support for law enforcement.
The Good Ticket program is part of an effort to encourage further support from the community for LVMPD through the LVMPD Foundation, which raises funds to support and supplement LVMPD programs and initiatives, including officer training, updated equipment, and positive community engagement activities.
