How are you getting to @EDC_LasVegas? I’m riding with @lyftvegas because they keep the party going the safe way!

LAS VEGAS (June 8, 2017) – As hundreds of thousands of people prepare for Insomniac’s Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) June 16-18 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Lyft Las Vegas and the Friends of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation are urging partygoers to ride safe. The first 2,000 new and existing users can use code ‘RIDEEDC’ for 50% off two rides, up to $8 off per ride to and from the Speedway.

“We want everyone to have a great time at EDC and there is no excuse for impaired driving, especially when there are safe alternatives,” said Tom Kovach, executive director for the Friends of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation. “We are so pleased to partner with Lyft Las Vegas in their continuing efforts to keep our community safe this EDC weekend.”

“EDC is a truly epic weekend, but can be stressful with driving there, finding a place to park, and then getting home after a long night of dancing and music,” said Yacob Girma, Lyft Las Vegas general manager. “Lyft offers multiple tools to ensure a hassle-free night – you can schedule your ride ahead of time, grab all of your friends and split a Lyft Plus, or take Lyft Premier for a truly VIP experience!”

Lyft was founded in June 2012 by Logan Green and John Zimmer to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. Lyft is the fastest growing rideshare company in the U.S and is available in more than 300 cities. Lyft is preferred by drivers and passengers for its safe and friendly experience, and its commitment to effecting positive change for the future of our cities.

The Friends of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation was established in 1999 as the non-profit charitable umbrella for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Programs and funding supported by the Foundation include the Every 15 Minutes safe driving program for high schoolers, Santa Cops mentoring program, updated officer safety equipment and training, specialized police units, and assistance for families of fallen officers. Individuals and companies can show their support for LVMPD and community safety by making donations, becoming sponsors, buying dedication pavers, participating in the annual GO TRUE BLUE Campaign, or joining us at the annual the Sheriff Salutes the Best of the Badge Gala and other Foundation events.
