Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation holds Cops & Canvas Art Auction Fundraiser
Las Vegas – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation will hold the 4th Annual Cops & Canvas Art Auction Fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the all-new AREA15. This event highlights the lesser-known talents of the outstanding officers and members of the LVMPD family, showcasing the artistic side of our law enforcement heroes of Las Vegas. Funds raised directly support community safety programs, advanced officer training, and essential crime-fighting equipment and technology.
“Cops & Canvas is always a great time to showcase an aspect of LVMPD officers that the community doesn’t get to see every day,” said Tom Kovach, executive director for LVMPD Foundation. “We are thrilled to provide a platform for these officers to demonstrate their talents while raising money to support our mission and we are grateful to our host venue, AREA15, for providing the perfect space for this fun event.”
AREA15, a first-of-its-kind experiential and interactive entertainment, retail, dining and nightlife complex, set to open in late 2019, will serve as the host venue for this unique event. Local artist Henry Chang, whose work will be featured at AREA15, will greet guests while two local acclaimed artists, Tim Bavington and Linda Alterwitz, are donating artwork for the auction and will be in attendance to share insights of their work. For the first time, the event is being curated by internationally renowned art collector Patrick Duffy.
Individual tickets are $75 and, because of the generosity of host AREA15 and presenting sponsor Fisher Brothers, every dollar raised from ticket sales and the art auction will directly support the crime-fighting and community safety programs, services, and initiatives of the LVMPD Foundation.
