High Roller at The LINQ Promenade goes blue in support of LVMPD Foundation’s “Go True Blue” campaign

LVMPD Foundation launches Good Ticket program in partnership with Caesars Entertainment and SilverSummit Healthplan

Las Vegas – Tonight, the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel located at The LINQ Promenade, turned blue in support of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation’s “Go True Blue” campaign launch. The Foundation also launched its Good Ticket program, designed in collaboration with local Girl Scout Sydney Ramenofsky, which provides recognition to LVMPD officers and Las Vegas Valley civilians for good deeds performed around the valley. The first Good Tickets, sponsored by Caesars Entertainment, were issued to nine LVMPD officers at The LINQ Promenade and included staycations at Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas resorts and complimentary rides on the High Roller. SilverSummit Healthplan is also generously sponsoring the program.

“Go True Blue is a way to recognize and support the officers who, day-in and day-out, work hard to keep our community safe. It’s a vehicle for the members of this great community to show their support for LVMPD and the strong partnership that exists between the public and Metro,” said Tom Kovach, executive director of the LVMPD Foundation. “The Good Ticket takes that support one step further by allowing citizens to give a Good Ticket to officers for every day ‘good deeds’ that sometimes go unrecognized and by giving officers the opportunity to hand out Good Tickets to civilians for doing something good and not just only when they’ve done something wrong.”

The Good Ticket was initially proposed by Sydney Ramenofsky, a member of the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada. The program provides citizens the opportunity to nominate an LVMPD officer for a Good Ticket when they see them doing a good deed, as well as allows officers to give Good Tickets to civilians seen doing something positive in the community.

“SilverSummit Healthplan is an advocate of helping others and giving back to the community. This is why the Good Ticket program is important to us as we team up to help Metro police officers recognize citizens doing good deeds,” said SilverSummit Healthplan President and CEO Garrett Leaf. “Our law enforcement officers work diligently to keep our community safe. This program will allow them to also experience some positive aspects of their jobs by seeing the good in people and rewarding them for it.”

In addition to the High Roller observation wheel, other landmarks around the Las Vegas Valley will also turn blue in support of LVMPD. The campaign is part of an effort to encourage further support from the community for LVMPD through the LVMPD Foundation. The LVMPD Foundation raises funds to support and supplement LVMPD programs and initiatives including advanced officer training, updated equipment and more.
