Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation Hosts January Events to Show Appreciation for Law Enforcement

Come support your officers this month for National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

LAS VEGAS – (Jan. 4, 2019) – Wednesday, Jan. 9 marks National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and, this January, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation invites the community to observe and celebrate our officers throughout the month.

“The amount of support we received throughout 2018 was outstanding and we’re excited to begin 2019 on a high note with the support of so many organizations,” said Tom Kovach, executive director of the LVMPD Foundation. “It’s important to recognize the officers who put their lives on the line for us every day and National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day gives our community the opportunity to thank them for all they do for us.”

Go True Blue Marquee Display – Wednesday, Jan. 9
To honor the brave members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and law enforcement agencies throughout the valley, more than 40 property marquees and screens from organizations including Caesars Entertainment, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Station Casinos, Boyd Gaming, Affinity Gaming, South Point Hotel Casino & Spa and Wynn Resorts are coming together to Go True Blue in support of their local heroes (For a complete list of all of the Go True Blue partners around the valley, see the attachment). The LVMPD Foundation created the Go True Blue campaign to recognize and support LVMPD officers who, day-in and day-out, work hard to keep our community safe. It is a vehicle for the community members to show their support for LVMPD and the strong partnership that exists and continues to grow between LVMPD officers, companies, residents of Las Vegas and Clark County. Partners across the Las Vegas Strip, around the valley and downtown will turn property marquees blue at 9:20 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday in support of LVMPD Foundation.
