On Monday, December 21, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation and IKEA USA furnished the homes of the three deserving families impacted by COVID-19. LVMPD Community Oriented Police teams and Office of Community Engagement nominated three families impacted by COVID-19 economic hardships. LVMPD Foundation and IKEA representatives worked together at the family’s home to empty the delivery truck and assemble and place items in the families’ homes.
“Our community is facing unprecedented challenges, we recognize the role we can play in helping families during this difficult time. At IKEA, we are guided by a simple, yet powerful vision of creating a better everyday life for the many. This is especially important during the holidays,” said Christina Hilborn, IKEA’s Las Vegas Loyalty Manager.
The LVMPD Foundation received a community grant from IKEA, and with this grant, they provided home furnishing makeovers to the three local families nominated. In addition, the Foundation furthers its commitment to community engagement programs, having already made over $140,000 in such investments this holiday season.
